Default TPS problem?

Hello folks,
I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 126,000 miles. It is a 4.0 Inline 6 with an AW4 tranny. Last week while driving with the A/C on, the check engine light came on and the fuel gauge needle fell to empty (with half a tank of fuel). Autozone scan results were P0122: TPS input sensor voltage low and P1492: Battery temperature sensor fault. I removed the TPS and checked it very slowly with an ohm meter and saw nothing out of the ordinary but decided to change the TPS anyway. (I bought a BWD model from Advance Auto). Still no change. I checked the input voltage to the new TPS and it is 5.16 volts. The ohm meter test was also good. The tranny shifts into all gears at 2500-2750 RPM and there is no kickdown. I did the TV adjustment and no change. Is there something that I am missing? Are the two codes related somehow? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
