i have 98 i6.
is the tps for a manual different from an auto?

the part at advance auto does not specify

I've heard there are different part numbers, but I don't know the difference. And there is also a good price difference IIRC.

I think the manual is more expensive. I saw someone say using an auto on a manual was the way to go.

The manual. Cost me 150 bucks and the automatic runs bout 60 ,but yeah I've heard people using the auto one on manual too ,but I just bout the right one

well i been running one that is for that year engine but can not get rid of this cel for bank 1 sensor 1... changed both o2s and cleared code but still comes back...

my idle on start up hot and cold is just bit over 1000rpm then settles after a minute...iac is new...fuse for o2 was not blown...fuel pump assembly is new... possible intake/vacuum leak possibly causing cel??? its driving me crazy....

the precat sensor wiring did touch the exhaust and burn some wiring but i have used wire connectors to repair...and i think i have an extra map sensor and need to learn how a voltometer to work...sorry for the book but i needed to get it out
