Default Towing question.

Hi everyone. I have a 1998 cherokee limited with 162,000 miles, 4.0 ,4- speed auto AW4 transmission, Dana M30/181mm front axel, 8.25 rear axle. My question for everyone is that i want to put a 3" skyjacker with 31" tires on and airbags on the rear to help with towing. The jeep is rated for 5000 but im wanting to tow my ultra light travel trailer thats 17' long and is rated at 2600 pounds gvwr. The jeep has a class III hitch and wiring and the factory tranny cooler. The rv has trailer brakes and a stabilzer bar for swaying. Can i do the lift and airbag combo and still tow safely? Should the factory tranny cooler be enough. My jeep is my everday transportation and hopefully for family camping. Any info would appreciated. " Had 04 F-250 for towing but now its gone"

yes and what type brakes do you have? anti-lock? the brakes are what you need to watch for when towing with an xj, not the power.

you know what, just scratch all that and set your trailer brakes right and you can tow her all day, just set the trailer brakes right

Sounds great. The trailer does have brakes on it already. Just want to make sure everything is safe. Thanks for the info.
