Towing help

I've never had any trouble towing a boat with an XJ. I also tow a 6'x12' enclosed utility trailer, and it handles it fine. How big is your boat? If it's 3,000 pounds or so with the trailer you should be able to tow it with ease. Maybe you just need to get your XJ running right with a tune up and some proper maintenance?

You should do alright on the highway, once your moving, I've seen chips on ebay that promise a 25% increase in mileage and like 20% torque, but never tried one, you might look into it. They are only like $30 bucks, claim and easy install, so even if you only get 2-5 more mpg, it might be worth it on a long trip.
