tow bar question?

okay so im plannin on makin a tow bar so i can flat tow my jeep, the guys that work in the welding shop in our motor pool said they could do it for me with out any issues, what im wondering is, since i have a front reciever can i just take a straight piece of square tube and put a ball reciever on there and just hook it up via my front reciever or should i got with the traditional v shape and have it so that it will bolt up to my front shackle points? and what the total length of it should be?

a single bar wont tow right

you need a V to keep it going in line with the tow vehicle

Go with the v shape. There is a good reason they all do it.
