Default Tough Door Handles

Hi everyone, we just started building another XJ and I'm wondering if there's a way to make the exterior door handles easier to press. Both of my Jeeps have been this way so I don't think there's anything broken, but they're difficult to open. My amazingly handsome boyfriend's going to spray some penetrating lube on the mechs to see if it helps, but if it doesn't, we're not sure what else to do. Thank you for your help.

The spray lube may help a little but, my rear door handles on both sides have always been really hard to push, too. I just chalked up to a Jeep thing and never messed with them. My daughters still have to two thumb push them to this day.

I took apart my handles in my 94' and lubed EVERYTHING with a silicon lube compound. The screws holding the handles in all broke, But I was able to drill a larger hole, and push in larger screws.
