Torque Values Online ?
However I looked at the 97 TJ and the Torque Value for the Flex plate shows 105 in-lb.
Is that correct ?
If so I screwed up because I Torqued mine to 105 ft-lb.
I found the 105ft-lb setting posted on a couple of other threads.
Now I'm wondering what I should do, the engine is already installed now.
I clicked on the 96 link and it took me to 92 TJ

Per 1997 XJ FSM:
- Harmonic Damper (80-pound-feet) (1/2"-20)
- Flexplate/Flywheel to Crankshaft Screws (105 pound-feet) (1/2"-20x.590")
- Torque Converter to Flexplate Screws (28 pound-feet) (M10-1.5x20m/m)
- Manifold to Cylinder Head Screws (not listed. Typically 19-21 pound-feet.)
NB:
- Paint snout of crankshaft with never-seez before installing harmonic damper
- Use LocTite #242 (or equivalent) on Flexplate-to-Crankshaft and Torque Converter-to-Flexplate screws, if none present (it's usually preapplied on new replacement screws)
- I find it helpful to apply a light, even layer of "Sensor Safe" RTV copper on both sides of the manifold gasket.
- Manifold screws are probably 3/8"-16x1-1/4, please confirm (may be something like M8-1.25x30m/m or so.) Whichever size they are, suggest replacement. Carbon steel gets incrementally softer as it is heat-cycled passt 1000*F. Recommend replacing with silicon bronze, use SAE5 or ISO 8.8 if Si-bronze not available. Reuse the bowl-shaped washers! They're there for a reason. Also, use LocTite #272 or nothing on those screws - no other grade of LocTite will hold up to exhaust heat.
