Default Torque Converter Spin Free

Hey guys. I recently pulled my transmission to replace a seal and a bushing. I seated the torque converter properly (confirmed by 2 mechanic friends) but when i put the transmission back in and try to align the torque converter to the fly wheel, it won't turn. If I back the transmission out ~1/8", the torque converter will spin free. The distance from the edge of the bell housing to the bolt points on the torque converter is more than the distance from the engine block to the bolt points on the flywheel which means the TC should spin free when the transmission is bolted up. Has anyone run into this before? Are Jeeps different when it comes to spinning the TC to line it up with bolting it to the fly wheel?

Thanks!

You placed the torque converter on the input shaft & spun it while pushing towards transmission & it clicked 3 times? If it only clicked 2 times you will wreck the pump if you try to bolt it up, reason, the torque converter is not fully seated.

You were correct. It only clicked twice. Luckily, I didn't crack or mess up the pump when I bolted it up. Thanks for the advice.
