I am pondering whether or not to get and 8.5 inch long arm kit for the XJ.... I have been told that is too much... I, on the other hand, do NOT think it is too much. Alot, yes but too much... no

i dont think it is to much... alot hell ya but that much wil allow for room for big tires and alot of flex. but you do have to think of how it puts ur center of gravity off so a flop on rough trails is more likely.

Unless youre running 40's then yes its too much. Keeping a low COG is much more beneficial than the clearance gained from a higher lift. I run 37's on 4" springs and ive still came pretty close to flopping it a few times. Huge lift= unstable and unsafe

yea I was just wanderin.... ive got 5.5 right now with 33s and am happy with it, I was just dreamin I guess
but if I could find a 6.5 long arm lift I would most likely go with that, get 35s and regear to 4:56 with the 8.8 in the rear....

huge lifts like they are good if all your doing is playing in the mud, when you get into real wheeling aka rocks and such it will make it much more difficult and more prone to flip
