Depends what you intend to do with the tire. Baja Claws are really designed for use in either mud or on sand(hence the name). Due to the tread design they don't have much traction for off-camber situations. They will pull like crap in the mud though, I have a buddy who had them on his XJ and loved them and even with hardly any tread they did great in deep mud. BFG Mud Terrains are a good all around off-road tire

31s are gonna be tiny on a 4.5 you should run at least 32s ifnot 33s on 4.5

what I was asking is what type of wheeling you intend to do with the tires

shes gonna be a DD, but i hit the mud whenever i have the chance, so im figurin on goin liberal with the knobbyness, even tho she might see more road than mud in the long run. i also love goin hittn the sand out nc way, so that sounds good. im curious of the length of time i could roll on those till i had to get new ones. time(yrs)/mileage numberwise

You'd probably be fine and happy with Baja Claws, I'e heard that they run down quick

i was thinking about 33s, but i really dont want to have to trim my fenders, itd be cake to do, but just a hassel. i like the 31s cause id still have good flex, plus gas mileage is slightly better, dont get me wrong, 33s or 35s here eventually, when shes a trial rig

31s will be tiny on a 4.5' lift. I have them on my XJ with a 3" and its leaving me wanting more tire. You should at LEAST go with a 32, and you'd have plenty of room to flex but extended bumpstop extensions would be a smart investment unless you want to overflex leaf packs and stuff fenders.
