I have 1 Goodyear Wrangler RT/S P225/75R15 on right front, 1 Firestone Destination LE LT235/75R15 on left rear, 1 Firestone Destination LE P225/75R15 on right rear & 1 Firestone FR380 P225/75R15 on left front on my Jeep. I hate that they don't match in appearance, but have been told the different sizes will cause problems with my drive train, among other things, if I continue to drive in 2X2 & should avoid using 4X4 altogether. On the other hand, I've been told that the minimal difference (235 & 225) is irrelevant. Although I don't do any 4-wheelin', I'm concerned about the damage I may be causing if I delay replacing all 4 tires. Thoughts and/or suggestions? If I should replace all 4, what are your thoughts on using 225 vs 235? Thanks!!

That minor difference amounts to about 15 additional revolutions per mile on the smaller rear tire, assuming equal tread wear. As long as you have an open differential, (no locker or posi), it'll be OK for a while.

4 new 225/235...get whichever size you can find the best deal on. I've run both. No substantial difference other than the speedo being about 2% off with the 235's.

My jeep is currently stock and the 235's fit fine. Walmart carries Wrangler 235's for $87 and so does discount tire usually, just check the installation cost for both. I have a couple of different kinds of 235 Wranglers on mine now.

I'm thinking about ordering 30's from Treadwright.com after I do my 2 inch lift and having Walmart install them. I agree with the other guy, you should be fine knocking around for a while, at least until you can save up a little cash. I ran different tires on my beater as a kid all the time.
