Default Tires

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. I am looking for a pretty inexpensive tire that I could run on my XJ. I have 15" rims and was looking for something that would be able to handle mud, sand, a little rock and the street. I still use my Jeep for daily driving, but love to have fun with it on the weekends.

look for a tire called maxxis bighorn on ebay. It is a strict ebay company but there is one guy who sells them.

they are a good tire, and will perform well on road in wet conditions due to siping.

id say for all around tires youd want some all terrains but you wouldnt notice much difference from street tires in mud. dunlop makes the mud rovers pretty cheap.

kumho mt's. they are basically the same thing as a bfg mud terrain, but nearly half the price. all mud terrains are very similar in design with the exception of a couple ( mickey thompson mtz comes to mind) go for whatever you can find for a good price. i suggest finding them locally that does price matching, then find a inexpensive online retailer and print out the page with them on it and bring it in. saves on shipping anyway.

bfg makes really good tires but they are overpriced. kumho MTs arent exactly the same, there are others that are closer.

i would venture to say they are quite similar in tread pattern, as well as sidewall strength

yea but there are others that are virtually identical. another close match would be hte Firestone Destination MTs. haha you would venture to say the ventures are similar...was that intentional lol

Check out the General Grabber 2's at Discount Tire. They have a nice tread, and are inexpensive....plus you can get replacement certificates.
(I tend to run over sharp stuff!

I would also suggest Kumhos MTs. They're cheap and I hear good things about them constantly.

That's the old discontinued design. Here's the new kumho MT. It's directional this time around.

From the reviews i read, it still performs very well. The old MT's were a killer though I had 3 sets of them.
