Default tire size question

I have a 2000 Cherokee Sport 4WD. My tires are 225 75 15 (sticker on door says 215 75 15, but I found out there was a misprint on the sticker for my year). I am trying to get some decent used tires for it, but no one seems to have the right size. I had one place that said he had four 225 70 15 in stock, and for a good price. What are the cons to changing the size like this? I am kind of a purist when it comes to parts, so I am having a hard time justifying changing the size, but for $130 OTD for 4 good used tires, it is hard to beat the price. Can I get some solid advice from you guys?

Thanks

225x70/75 or 235x70/75 will be fine at stock height. 235's will give you a little more aggressive look!

HAHAHA. I have 225's nothings wrong with them. They actually look stupid kinda cause I have good springs/leafs still and they look so small.

For 130 get em, its a good deal and literally the size difference is like 1/3 of an inch, if you were get em brand new. I'm sure youll barely tell a difference. bottom line... GET 'EM. *if theyre any good

yes, I am only looking at the difference between 225 75 15 and 225 70 15. My goal is not to change the tire size at all, my only goal is to get 4 decent used tires, and I found 4 decent 225 70 15. I honestly don't want to change the size, I am a purist with those things and like original equipment sizes, but I can't beat that price. Are there any cons to changing the size like that, assuming all 4 tires change to the new size?

Are you changing the height (210 to 225) or the width (75 to 70) and the rims staying the same size(15)?

original equip is 225 75 15, and that tires I am looking at are 225 70 15, so the height is the only thing that will change, and all 4 will change

right, instead of them being 75% of the width (225mm), they will now be 70% of the width

If the tires u looking to buy are good no dryrot good tread depth get them going from a 225/75/15 to a 225/70/15 is NOT hardly any difference at all. Go for it..

OK, thanks.

Are there any cons to changing from 75 to 70?

225/70 are almost 1" shorter than stock 225/75. 235/70 is almost identical in height to stock. Height/diameter is what effects odo/speedo.

My problem is the rims that the depth of the tire..just don't know if your tire can handle it.. like it being smaller?
