I picked up another matching steelie at the JY to use for my full size spare, and it had a 235 on it... not too different from the 31", may be just right. My "31s" measure 29.5" with weight on them and they're a bit worn.

Actually (mathematically), 235/75/15 is 28.9" tall and 225/75/15 is 28.3" tall for a difference of .60", not .06". 235 is .39" wider than 225.

hes not talking any kind of lift here... theres plenty of threads for that... and if you run that spare tire your gonna blow your transfer case... i bought a 97 XJ with a RE super flex lift and dummy had worn 33's on the back and new 32's on the front... blew his transfer case up... which was good for me cause i got the jeep for $600... lol...

moral of the story is... it doesnt take much... 3% difference in gears is max i know... id imagine tire size difference would be the same...
