Tire Size

We have a 98 Cherokee Sport, all stock with the 15x7 rims. Can I install 235/75/15 tires without a problem or do I need to stay with the 225/75/15 stock size....

you should be fine tire wise, but just make sure a larger tire wont rub

Had the same setup before I lifted. You'll be fine.

You will be fine runnin those tires. You may rub a tiny bit with them at full lock though.

If u want the little extra width without the extra height/diameter, consider 235/70/15.

I have P235/75-R15 tires on my 2000 with stock rims.

No problems with rubbing the wheel well.

I have a 98 Classic, stock wheels and 235/75/15's. No rubbing at all.

235/75/15 equal with 29.1 inch (diameter) and 225/75/15 = 28.5 inch mean you can get good acceleration. But surface contact of your tire will be reduced approximately 0.06 inches (will increase a little bit braking distance).

Actually (mathematically), 235/75/15 is 28.9" tall and 225/75/15 is 28.3" tall for a difference of .60", not .06". 235 is .39" wider than 225.

Yes, around 0.6" for tire diameter, but am talking about surface contact beetwen tire and road surface....

Why would contact surface be less with a wider tire? It seems like there would be a larger contact surface. Am I missing something?

I have 31x10.5s on my stock wheels, but I didn't do an adj track bar after my lift and at full right turns I rub the LCA. I need to get some rims with 3.5-4" BS i believe but it's nothing I can't live with for now. The previous owner put these tires on and I did the lift. When I first got the car they rubbed bad! But I had drastically sagging suspension. I thought the 31s looked too big stock, now they look too small.

I picked up another matching steelie at the JY to use for my full size spare, and it had a 235 on it... not too different from the 31", may be just right. My "31s" measure 29.5" with weight on them and they're a bit worn.
