Default Tire Size??

If I do a 3" lift on my 94 Cherokee Country, will a set of 31x9.5x15 look too small on it. I happen to have a brand new set? Also can I keep my stock aluminum wheels? I have 235-75x15 on them now and they fit fine. Thanks

I have 31x10.50s with 3" of lift on my Cherokee. I wouldn't put 31x9.5 on it, its already skinny enough on the stock wheels

Sorry I'm not sure what you mean, It's skinny enough with stock wheels? Do you mean it will be too tall for the stock width of the jeep because I'm not using wider or off set wheels or the tires will be too wide for the stock wheels? Thanks

31x10.50s fit on a stock wheel just fine. What I was saying is due to the stock backspacing I wouldn't feel comfortable putting 31x9.50s on my Jeep. thus being skinny. If you're careful it'd be perfectly safe, but I like the width of a 10.50. can't wait to get me some backspaced wheels and 33s

It'll fit and look fine. It also won't be any less stable than a 31x10.5, it's only an inch narrower. there are folks around here running 34x9.5 Super Swampers with no stability issues. I also think that the narrower tire would give a nice stock look to it on the stock wheels, keeping it understated and clean..

Agreed. Also, think about all the expedition rigs like Defender 90's, that travel through all kinds of environments around the world...and they ALL use narrower tires.

The tires turn out to be 31x10.5, not 9.5. Will they fit the stock aluminum wheels, and will they clear with a 3" lift? Do I need new wheels? Thanks Again

Unless he wants to change his bs he doesn't need new wheels. 31x10.5s fit very nicely on stock XJ wheels
