I was in a bind and needed new tires fast and I have had them on my xj for about 10k miles, they are pretty good off road too and have been put to the test on rocks sand and mud. I have been more than happy with them. I think they were about 90 a piece for 235 75 15. Also while I have never owned a set of re treads my next set will probably be from treadwright ( there are alot of really good reviews). So which ever route you go make sure you do your research before you buy, remember you have to drive this jeep everyday so make sure your investment is a good one. Sorry for the long post.

31's won't fit a stock rig (read). You should be able to run up to a 235/75 or 70/15 on a stock late model even a 30/9.50/15 will rub.

Just in case you are not aware these are recaps. may have a goodyear tread design and a BFG carcass. you would have to deal with them directly for any issue with them. Out here not recommended the come apart too easy cuz the heat i guess. Remember all those tires on the side of the hwy? those are mostly semi recaps. So beware of what you are getting is all i am saying.

hankook dynapro atm's come in 30x9.5
i paid 148$ for 31's, got them from a local dealer who matched tire rack pricing. they are an awesome tire and last very long
if you want a more aggressive stance, like a wider wheelbase, look into spacers...i think spydertrax is the most highly reccomended

Do some research...i have not heard of 1 cap coming off of a tire that was sold by treadwright...technology has came a long way with recaps...im near positive the amount of technology that is put in to truck recaps is nowhere near what they put into vehicle recaps...reason i say that is when a truck looses a tire its on a dual so the other one will hold the weight and nothing is really affected...but when a car loses a tire it can be a terrible wreck in the happening...so therefore when they recap vehicle tires it is pretty much on an as much of an error proof basis as possible...trust me i've been in there shop and actually was gonna work for them...the amount of safety measures and detail that goes into them tires is just insane.

I was just giving the OP some info. But i have been in the tire business for 25 yrs so i do know about caps. And yes they have come a long way you are right. There are some shops that wont touch a cap for liabilty reasons. Not sure i agree on that nuch less into semi caps these days with the tons they carry and sue happy ppl and most states hava laws against running caps on the steer axle on truck with the military as the only exception i know of. So where would the OP go for tire warranty or a repair with a goodyear MTr tread and a BFG sidewall if he is not near the treadright plant. I have dealt with this first hand. a buddy in IRAQ ordered a set of just that and had a hard time getting ppl to mount them. (i am no longer in the tire busness) so i mounted them and got them balanced and it took a lot of weight.

I understand what your saying...but they sell A LOT and i mean A LOT of tires there, and everywhere i see treadwright tires mentioned online its always good...so i dont think many people have them problems you speak of...o and if its a big deal on what the sidewall says you can tell them you want a certain sidewall and they will put your caps on them.

Ya for sure...just cant beat the prices of them treadwrights, which the op said he's on a tight budget...only downside with them is the biggest size they have is a 31 for a 15" rim...or i'd have another set of them.lol
