tire pressure
I have 33x12's on my Xj. Optimum tire pressure for the woods and mud is 24 lbs. It gives me even tread on the ground.
One source tells me to leave them at 24 pounds for driving to work and back on the pavement. Speeds sometimes can be 60mph.
Another source said to me eegads! You need to pump them up to the max advertised on the side of the tires (which is 50 pounds) or I will flip.
What tire pressures should I be using under highway conditions?

don't know the correct answer but I use the pressure that gives me the best foot print which is 21-22psi. I drive it daily and it sees 65mph every now and then. I'm running 33's on a 15x8" rim.
I do have a question though, I thought that for mud it would be better to be inflated to max pressure and in the woods I thought you would deflate to get the tires to grip the objects better or is the lower pressures mainly for rock climbing and sand?... Correct me if I'm wrong because I'm truly not sure...

I also use the pressure that gives me the best foot print which is 22-24psi. I have used this in the woods and mud and on the pavement. I am using stock rims which don't seem to be a problem. I am not an expert but was wondering what experiences others have had with tire pressures.
