Tire advice please ? ?
So I NEED tires to get me thru the winter, but I'm saving up for a 3" lift to put on in the spring .. I know there's plenty of threads on what size tire U can fit on stock suspension ...I'm just wondering what size I could get away with just driving around town, no crazy off roading, just back and forth to work ? ? ?
Second ... Anyone got any recommendations for a decently priced tire that doesn't do to bad in snow ? ? ?
Thanks in advance for the help guys ! ! !

I have 30" High Country AT on mine. Only had them for a bit and have seen some snow but work very good. Great driving tire too. I have a 3" lift but I was told this size would be the largest tire to fit stock without rubbing. As for price I did a cash and carry but got them for around $530. They were around $130 a piece. Here's mine.

My dad had BFG ATs on his old work truck and said they'd take him anywhere that had a bottom. Granted that truck weighed at LEAST 10,000lbs lol.
I myself would go with General Grabber AT2s or Duratracs. The ones I have right now are Primewell PA100s. If you don't mind the look they're a great tire. I've got around 35,000 miles on them and they still have plenty of tread. I love them. They grip snow, ice, gravel, mud, and I would imagine they'd be alright on rocks as well.

For an AT with awesome all around performance I went with Firestone Destination AT's on my '10 Frontier. They are the best AT I have ever used - dead quiet, superb traction in all conditions and impeccable road manners. Check out the reviews on Tire Rack. I picked mine up for $140 a piece at my local Firestone.
However... if you can, squeeze on some 31x10.50 MT's if that's what you plan on running after you get the lift. That way you don't have to re-shoe afterward.

I ran 235/75/15 BFG AT KO's on mine when it was stock...no rubbing and they do great in snow IMO. When I did my 3" lift they held me over just fine til I got bigger tires....looked a tad small but were fine. Also, if your just looking for something to hold you over until after your lift craigslist has ome sweet deals on used tires.
