In regards to HID headlights, and once again I can only speak for Arkansas law Vehicle lighting is regulated by law and does not allow for HID lighting to be installed aftermarket. It requires that lighting be of OEM type. So if it did not come from the factory with them it is illegal to install them on an XJ. That said If you are going to put HID lights in stay away from the goofy color temps that show up pink purple green or most especially blue. The State Police here use a test of placing a plain white sheet of paper in front of the illuminated headlights and if it shows up as any color other than white it is citable. at least in the white to yellowish color temp it doesn't obviously jump out as illegal.

I really REALLY wish the cops around here would start ticketing people for this.

 

I could say this for a lot of things. Laws are only as good as their enforcement, and there are SOOOO many things law enforcement never enforces.

 

I completely agree. It seems some of these rarely enforced laws are just used to give the police a reason to stop someone and look for bigger things....
