Ok guys so I'm back with more info. The idle is really rough. Upon taking off it misfires and sputters decent until about 2000+ rpms. Keep her there and its minor. Go up a hill and it gets crazy. Hit final drive dropping below 2000 and it almost wants to die. Letting off the gas it drops rpms like crazy. So I threw the code reader at her. I was getting o2 high and cylinder 2 misfire. I have new o2s so I checked the fuse box and sure enough fuse blown. Cleared the code and drove her around. O2 code has not returned but the misfire in cylinder 2 is still there. So I got to wondering if I may have a bad plug or wire. OHMd the wire and it was iffy so i replaced it. And I went ahead and replaced the plug. Same issue. While the vehicle is running if I remove the number 2 cylinder plug wire I can hear it and feel it clicking. Put the wire back on. Go over to the injector side and remove the plug from the injector. Slight noticeable difference. Enough to know its getting fuel. Here is the freaky thing. The plug on cylinder 2 isn't exactly HHHOOOTT. To the tough I mean its warm but not hot. I'm stuck men. I really need some help here because I'm leaning towards the one thing I dread. VALVES.

I also checked my TPS. At idle I'm OHMing at .74. Consistent range of increased voltage for a WOT reading of 3.84 volts. So that's good as well.

Well men, for the ones that might be curious as to my finds on what the issue was...highly doubt many are following, but any who I found the issue to be a sunken valve. So Thursday I'll be ripping the 172,304 mile 4oh out for an acid bath, bore and hone, and have the head worked. I'll be taking this opportunity to paint the engine bay and work on a few other things while the block and head is at Moffett Machine.

It looks correct to me Pete. The 5 barely shows but all rest are right.
Bummer! So a keeper let go? I might stick some new rod inserts in there going that far.
No idea what year it is.....your screws on the dizy seem to point straight ahead, wonder if that's right.

Yeah I mentioned the screws and everyone blew that off. But it was never an issue before. I suppose the guy before done quite a few things to set me up for a surprise. But no she's a keeper. I'll be pulling the entire engine on friday and dropping the block and head off at moffett machine. Getting the block inspected and acid dipped, bored and honed. The head will get completely reworked and haven't decided if I want to go with a 460 lift cam yet or not but none the less I'll be building a nice one. Want to balance out the mid and top end. That should help out. I'll rework everything in the process.
