timing cover question

timing cover question
coming home from school today, i barely got on it and the belt snapped, the pulley piece of the harmonic balancer is missing and the timing marks blew right off. gone. (WTF!!) and the belt slapped the underside of the hood and chipped my paint. (!!)
Question:
are all early 90's 4.0 timing covers the same?? Looking at the junkyard early tomorrow morning.
Also doing the timing chain then. Any tips?!
