you want to go from 10w30 conventional oil to 0w30 synthetic? back in high school i was told that the lower the weight of the oil the less protection you get. correct me if im wrong but 0w30 would be like water based oil, not that well in viscocity. thats used in like brand spankin new cars were they dont need protection from sludge and stuff. if you ask me IMHO you can swith over to 10w30 synthetic youll have the same weight in oil but just a little better.

Tom unless you live in sub zero contitions I would not change from 10w30 to 0w30. As for the conventional to synthetic that will depend on how much milage you currently have. Over 150K then stick to conventional.

yea thats what i figured in my head the only reason why they say advanced fuel economy is cuz its so thin the internals wouldn't theoretically have to work so hard but in my truck with 93k miles wouldnt be so good i think? i just wanted a confirmation thanx
