Tightning serp belt on 4.0l HO
Hey my motor has been making a "chirping noise" for probably the first 5 minutes of driving. Im thinking its because of the serpentine belt being slightly loose. I know that its tightened through the powersteering pump, but i would really appreciate some pictures and explanation on exactly which bolts need to be loosened to tighten the serp belt. Thanks.

What year cause the adjusters are diferent ovber the years. Anyway look at the PS Pump under it will be a LONG bolt in a bracket with a block with a nut like thing riding in the middle of the bolt. Thats the adjuster, turn right to tighten left to loosen.

1) take out your air filter housing and the fan
2) loosen twos bolts on the back
3) loosen the bolt on the front on the top
4) under neath the power steering reservoir there is a three or four inch bolt which loosens the belt but first you have to loosen the bolt on the bracket that houses that long bolt on the front of the power steering mount torward the bottom
And don't forget lefty loosey righty tighty

I've never had to remove the fan?
Also, the chirp may not be a belt. My 95 did that, thought it was the belt. Turned out to be the idler pulley.
