Default Tighten flywheel / without seperating tranny?

Hello All,

I have a 99 cherokee sport 4.0 / 4 x 4

Seems my flywheel has loosened up and is starting to rattle,

I know this is a stupid question, But Can I tighten my flywheel without seperating the tranny from the engine? I think I can through the inspection plate, Can't remember...

Any help , Thanks

Ant...

The flex plate to torque converter bolts, yes. The flex plate to crank shaft, no.

Chances are the flexplate to torque converter bolts are loose. Pull the inspection cover and check the bolt you can access the easiest, if loose you can pull it and loctite it or just snug it up and hope it doesn't come loose anytime soon. Use a ratchet or breaker bar on the crank pulley and turn the flexplate slowly till another bolt comes into view. Repeat the above until you have tightened all of them. Be sure to use a flashlight and take your time looking at the flexplate to make sure it hasn't cracked.

You are right.

It was the flywheel to converter
DIdnt see any cracks, But it was loose, Pulled the bolts and loctite them all... While I was under there figured I would change my tie rod ends and track bar.. So I got the front end done now, Just need to go get an alignment now...

Thanks Guys...
