Default Ticking AFTER exhaust manifold replacement. EDIT: Piston slap???

My '91 had the common exhaust manifold cracks, as I verified after removal. I installed a new one and the loud exhaust leaks went away. But it still has some ticking that I cannot locate with a stethoscope. Any ideas?

Is this piston slap?

Is this piston slap? Does it need to be fixed if so? I thought I read somewhere that the 4.0 is notorious for it.

IMO it doesn't sound like piston slap. Was it there before you replaced the exhaust manifold? Does it change with RPM?

Yes it does. Collapsed lifter maybe?

Yes, but it was masked by an exhaust leak. It does change with RPM

Sounds to me like a normal 4.0 lifter clatter.
