my cherokee has a ticking noise coming from what seems to be the oil pan. its really on and off, one day it will be completely quite and the next will be doing it. when it does do it, it does it at idle, first gear, second, and then when it shifts to third it goes quiet. does anyone know what this could be?

 

noise in this engines is normal, try different oils 10-30 10-40 check the oil pressure

 

i put 10-40 in and the noise has stopped. thanks alot!
