Default throttle position sensor help

I'm new to the forum so hoping I'm in the right place for this question. Engine light came on. stopped by autozone to get info on code. says "PO122 and PO123, throttle position sensor". Anyone have any advice on this? Is this something serious? Seems to be running ok but may have a little hesitation when shifting gears (automatic). This is a '99 sport with 150K miles. I just realized this happened right after cleaning the engine. Thanks in advance.

It's not serious unless it quits running.... That is attached to the side of the throttle body. You may be picking up some more than usual resistance. I would pull it off and clean it and where it goes into the throttle body. Also clean down inside the throttle body where the butterfly opens and closes. Use some good throttle body cleaner and watch how it comes out when you remove it. You will see when you remove the screws it will sort of tilt to one side. You will want to make sure you install it back the same way.

You probably killed the TPS when you washed the engine. I have done it twice now and finally made a cover for it. I also have louvers and rain killed one once also. Symptoms will range from delayed/no shifting to a searching idle. It takes about 5 minutes to change one out. I would recommend going OEM or buy two and keep one as a spare.
