I sent the instructions to your email a minute ago along with a few tips.

The problem with most instructions for vehicles with an auto trans is they have you testing/adjusting off the trans side of the TPS when you should be observing the engine side. These instructions rectify that issue and give a little tip on checking the sensor grounds circuit which can cause issues for 4 important sensors.

Did you do the sensor ground test or try to adjust/test the TPS?

How would you adjust the tps on a 96 xj. I replaced mine and it has a littlebit of a rock back to aline the bolts, is that normal or do i keep putting it on the wrong sides of the teeth.

Pretty sure the 96 is not adjustable. 87-90 has slots for the mounting screws so you can adjust. Other than that I'm not much help other than on mine you need to mount it so as you give it throttle the lever moves the dealie on the TPS.
