Throttle linkage
This is getting irritating. I can find throttle linkage for a '33 DeSoto, or for a '51 Mercedes Benz, or for a '57 Edsel, but not for an '87 Cherokee. Morris Motors gave me a part number for the part, MoPar says NLA. All 5 I've bought from various junkyards are as broken as mine, nobody has a clue, let alone a solution.

Mine had a tube, or sheath on the vertical section of cable right at the end where it connects to the linkage. That had gotten brittle and cracked interfering with smooth throttle action. I found I could just crush and crumble it away with pliers. I thought that did it, but there was a catch. Literally a catch. Once or twice while floorboarding it, it stuck. I don't remember the last time it did that, buy I don't floorboard it very ofter either.
