ok ive been chasing gremlins for a while and the three codes i have left are : p0132 O2 high voltage bank 1 sensor1, p0135 O2 heater circuit malfunction, and p1494 manufacturer control auxilary emission control.

(here's the tricky part O2 bank1 sensor1 is brand new, and i have no idea what can cause the p1494) any ideas? much appreaciated!

p1494 is the leak detection pump check for cracked hoses on the evap soleniod on the pass. side firewall

on a 1999 where is the evap solenoid?

thanks for the pic, i'll check it out. now how about the o2 codes which are giving me problems????

all right square one. checked the vac lines to the evap solenoid they look fine. even all the way back to the charcoal canister.so now what the solenoid actually be bad? and still having problems with the o2... could a short elsewhere be the gremlin?

The P1491 code is the Leak Detection Pump itself, which is located to the outside of the solenoid, and lower, mounted on the top of the fender well.

'99's usually don't have LDP's, unless by chance it's a California XJ.

That's what my FSM says, and on going back an reading the first post it says the P1494 code was "manufacturer control auxilary emission control." That is different than what's in my FSM, which is for a 2001.

Looks like they have more than one description for the same code, depending on the year and equipment. The code above almost reads like "for future equipment". Wonderful....

That being said, even with my 2001 there are two sections in the FSM. One says "on vehicles equipped with an LDP" and one without. So I guess in that year some had it, some didn't.
