those darn nuts and bolts...
Hey guys, having some real bad luck today.
Went to drain the tranny fluid, put a fresh 2 quarts in (yes, dex-merc) and overtightened the darn drain bolt. Now it just spins and spins and wont loosen or tighten, just stuck.
And then I did it again, on the same day.
Picked up a new drag link end for the pitman arm since mine was shot, and I guess I put a bit too much pressure on the ball joint to try and keep it from moving, and I did the same to the castle nut. Wont tighten or loosen, just spins (I hate ball joints).
Any fixes for this? Or am I just going to have to resort to dropping my oil pan every time I want to drain it? Am I gonna need a(nother) new drag link end or is there a way to fix these darn mistakes? It was hard enough trying to get the first ball joint out from the pitman arm...

Replace the pan at the next change.
Can you weld a bolt on top of the spinning ball joint to give you a grip point so you can back off the nut? Then replace with a new joint.
Don't put so much "huh" on the next fasteners.

Little known secret on AW4s. The BOLT strips, not the pan as it is a softer metal......
Get a new bolt and washer. Remove the old one by turning it counter clockwise while prying under the bolt head with a small screwdriver.

Here is a variant of what Cruiser states. Same idea. Although in this video he talks about fastening, the same principle goes for losening.
