I am building one for the rear of my Jeep, as I really don't like the one that goes with my bumper and I am not replaceing the entire thing...

But did you cover the ends of the tubing you used??? I am making the main pieces out of 2x2x.125 tubing... So I have the open ends...

If you covered them, why???

If you didn't why not???

I'm completely on the fence, so I need arguments either way....

If you cover them water don't get in your tubing and rust it.

If you don't it saves on weight.
