Okay first off check the date on the tire... Many people dont know how to do this but it's a very key thing when getting tires... Most of the time it's gonna be a 3 digit number with a oval/circle around it in the side wall. The first two numbers are the week and the last number is the year for example( 364 is 36th week of 2004 or 136 is 13th week of 2006 ) or newer tires made in 2010 or newer will be 4 digit. This is a very very key thing. Tires begin braking down after 6 years and become unsafe. There are thousands of instances of being being hurt or killed in accidents due to tire failure with vehicles with older tires.

Good advice, but slightly inaccurate.

Date codes have been 4 digits since 2000, not 2010. If you find three digit date codes, they were manufactured in the '90s.
