Default Thermostat gasket question

Does the sticky side of the gasket go on the block or the housing? And is it recommended to use any any liquid gasket in addition to the formed one?

Strongly recommend a thin film of RTV sealer on both sides of gasket and don't overtighten the bolts.

i agree i found seleant for theromstate housings i use and have no reget that i do
