I had heard good about the Stant stats which is my reasoning for choosing it, but it actually performs much worse than the bad factory stat. The factory stat only performed bad in the cold, this Stant does bad in all temps and has held the temp anywhere from around 160 to 210+. I picked one up at NAPA, over a year installed. No poblems. My next will be soon and I'll go the same route. Unless I have a problem with what I get from NAPA then I'll just continue to use them.
Installed the Mopar stat today. Will see how the temp sits over the next week.

just for info,my? stat wiggles once a minute roughly, one needle width from 210 down, one needle. very stable, i watch it! it was in when i bought.

Well. The temp has gone from roughly 160 with the Stant to about 180 with the Mopar. The Mopar definitely can control temps better for those of you who are wondering if the few extra bucks does anything.
However it is not to solution to my problem. Heat still isn't much better, and ~180 is still a bit off from normal temps.

now its the heater? gotta flush it good, sometime hard to get clean.

how long ago?
i guess 180 is lower mine is 210 and hot heat. dont know what stat is in it but prob changed a few times. i bought at 168000, now 170000.
you might carefully block the rad briefly to see if the temp goes up to 210 ,AND if the heat is better. if not i would flush the heater core.
jeeps, 4.0 is new to me so other stuff may be affecting the heater.
