Well I guess the problem is sometimes it has fuel, spark & o2 & starts & sometimes it doesn't have fuel, spark & o2 & so no start & I don't know why sometimes it will & sometimes it won'tOriginally Posted by Turbo X_J
So if it has fuel, spark, and little good ole O2, it will "start" right up, whats the problem?
lol
Todays clue to my mystery. I unplugged & "cleaned" more electrical connections. (again) I replaced both battery terminals with better ones. I replaced the dome light & popped a new fuse in for the clock cause when I re-did the headliner the bezel in the dome light crumbled & I found a stock dome light on ebay for $12.
When I was done I went to "crank & start" her up & she fired right up but when I touched the foot feed she started gagging. Never done that before.
I switched off & unplugged and re-plugged the CPS & a checked all the vacumn hoses. While there I checked the air filter. It was filthy burnt looking. It was replaced no more than 500 miles ago. Hhhhmmm.
Drove up to the station put 5 gallons (without switching off) then drove around the circle & back to the house. (about 12 miles)
Switched her off & hit the key for re-start. Fired right up. Like suppose to. Went inside, fed the dog & waited exactly 5 minutes. Back out hit the starter & she tried to start & finally did after about 5 tries.
Shaking like she was on 3 cylinders. After about 30 seconds & slowly pressing the foot feed she evens out & runs fine.
So it's boiled down to immediate re-start is ok. Wait a few minutes & it's tuff. Wait until she has completely cooled & starts just fine.
The re-start time frame has been squeezed down.

I'd still like to see you do a fuel pressure test. I wonder if the injectors are leaking down hot. Even though they've been changed, it could be a coincidence.

I'm really curious what the results will be. How are you gonna do the test?Originally Posted by randall L

I'll post the results. Got a friend that has helped me do lots of the work on this thing that's going to be here Monday. He's a real life mechanic familiar with the procedure. I'm not.
I just did a google search on "injector leak down when hot" & there's a ton of post about this exact issue.
Immediate re-start OK. Wait 5 mins. & probably will re-start but very ruff. Wait till cool down starts right up. Mostly due to leak down flooding cylinder as you mentioned earlier today
May be getting dialed in now. Possible sleep tonight.
