Me, I use a kill switch that disables ignition and fuel. Towing my jeep is about the only way to steal it.
I have a write up on this forum on how to build your own magnetic operated Immobilizer that works pretty well and is very easy to keep hidden

ive never locked my xj. i dont ever leave anything in it tho. the way i see it nobody really wants to steal a 25 year old jeep. unless ur a desperate wheeler with no wheels. but ive never had a problem with where i live. all my stuff is manual so i dont bother ever locking it. ill leave all the windows down too haha
i locked my keys in once. spent 30 minutes trying to get a window down or something till i called my mom and she reminded me that my hatch doesnt lock.... i felt pretty stupid

Having a vehicle that's more than 10 yrs old does not have much value for the true thieve but is the punks that steal your Jeep for kicks that concern me.

Lock your doors. Don't leave anything inside it that looks appealing to crooks. A thief isn't going to waste his time breaking into something that might not actually have anything worth stealing in it.
As far as the ENTIRE Jeep being stolen... park in well lit, active areas, where there is no cover for them to hide behind while breaking in/hotwiring.

In my drive way, I lock it and count on the factory alarm system. My two dogs hear and know about anything going on in the yard. (or even going past the house) I don't leave steal able stuff it anyways. If it did get broken into, my home owners Insurance will cover it. (also my auto Insurance) I would be claiming a lot things missing that wheren't ever really there. It is also parked under a motion light. And our bedroom is right there.
