my 92 xj wasn't shifting at normal rpm and over heating because it was running at too high rpm. i used the tranny pump to pump out the old fluid as i added new fluid like i read on here. i also replaced the TPS. my cherokee is running fine and shifting correctly again. thanks to everyone that contributed the info that bailed me out. if i had taken it to a transmission shop, i'd probably spent $1500-$2000. this is a great site and i'm grateful for it. thanks again.

i'll definatly stick around. as far as spending $$$$$$$, i know all about that. i'm on my 3rd Jeep AND i own a BOAT. there's no end to the things i could buy if i had the $$$$$$$.
