Testing for a short in an injector
I have a 2005 GC with the 5.7 hemi in it. Here is the question that I am posting:
This car would only run with starting fluid, and after checking the fuel pump relay and eventually replacing the pump it still is not running. The fuse for the fuel injectors keeps blowing. It is supposed to be a 25 and even a 30 is blowing. Has anyone had this issue before? I have gone through the wiring harness for the injectors and do not see any obvious shorts, but something has to be a direct short somewhere. Someone has ran a jumper wire for the left side of the engine to the right side of the engine from injector #3 to injector #2. I am not sure why they did this, but it did seem to be working. I hate that I really do stink at electronics I'd love some thoughts on this issue.

BTW, "The fuse for the fuel injectors keeps blowing. It is supposed to be a 25 and even a 30 is blowing". NEVER do this, even for testing purposes. Vehicles have burned to the ground because a larger size fuse was used and the fire could not be put out in time. The wiring overheats, among other things, and can literally catch fire. We dont want that to happen to you.
As to why theres a jumper from one side of the engine to the other, i have no idea. But it probably has a lot to do with the short. The WK forums will have a better idea of what to check and where everything is. A pic or two would probably help so they can see exatly what youre dealing with. Good luck.
