temperature issue?

on my jeep which has the 4.0 in it i have replaced the thermostat and radiator and the top hose. it runs about 170-190 when im moving but once i stop it goes up to around 225 ish. i have no clue what is wrong with it. and yes the water pump is working

i will take a look again after school and see. could it be because of a pin hole in a hose or because of a lack of antifreeze by chance?

if its a renix look at the back of the head there is a sensor between #5 and #6 injectors, you can pull it out and make sure the head is not air locked.
I wouldn't pull it with it hot, give it time to cool down and bleed the pressure off the system with the radiator cap before pulling it so it doesn't spew everywhere and burn you.
If its full when you remove the sensor, coolant will immediately start to come out of the hole. So be prepared to reinsert the sensor instantly.

Note the above is if you have a sensor there. I think the HO's lack the sensor but not certain there.
The overflow tank going empty is not good.
How is the rubber on your radiator cap?
