temp problem and no heat

2000 xj, recently replaced radiator, t-stat. temp gauge will overheat and there is no heat coming from the defroster... im wondering if the thermostat is bad again or just stuck. and about 2 months ago i flushed the radiator. any help would be great

might have air pocket in the system. if this happened right after changing radiator. if not I'd check thermostate.

might be an air bubble, how do you burp or bleed the system?

Are you using any coolant? IE: having to add to the reservoir?

I always get nervous about cooling system symptoms with the 00-01 with a possible cracked 0331 cylinder head.

The 91-01 XJ should "burp" itself of any air pockets in 3-4 complete heat up / cool down cycles.
