Default Temp control slider wont move

Recently did a complete dash swap from a 93 XJ into an empty 87 mj. Everything swapped over just fine, but when I got the heater core box in place and the control panel for it screwed into the dash the slider for the temp control won't move now. Any thoughts? I left the control panel connected to the whole heater core assembly when I swapped them over, maybe I bent something on that cable connected to the slider?

The cable runs from the control to that door. What's not moving?
