Default tcase leak

i've had my SYE in for a while now, and have always had the problem of a slight leak. it's not a lot, and it is not always consistent but still does it sometimes. i think its the breather hole, not a fill or drain plug. has anybody had this problem with the AA sye? and any suggestions how to fix it? i hope the bolt wasn't overtightened and stripped. i've tried taking the nut off and using plumbers tape but it did nothing. others had suggested using RTV, or replacing the o-ring in the speedo gear. putting RTV makes me nervous b/c it seems like since it's leaking, the RTV will just stop it and it will keep building up where that bolt is, am i crazy for thinking that? i'll attach a pic, which will show you where it is leaking from, you can't really see fluid in the pic though. thanx in advance for any help

You try actual thread sealer on it instead of teflon tape?

thread sealer works better on threads, it sticks to the thread as rtv will just kinda squish out of the threads

threadlocker and threadsealer are pretty much the same thing right? at least for the purposes of this particular leak.

Threadlocker will keep a bolt from loosening up, that's all. Thread sealer will fill in the grooves/lands of the bolt and the threaded hole to prevent leakage.

Any kind, I'd hit the plumbing aisle at the local home place/hardware. I'd imagine something that can seal in oily stuff.

I seen that other thread of yours...you're just springing leaks all over the place man....
