When my 91 XJ Sport was in the shop for a brake recall (from 1998!), the mechanics noticed that there was a problem with my transfer case shift linkage. I told him to order the parts, and that I'd try to fix it. Below is the area in question. It looks to me like I just need to slip a bushing into the circled area - I've checked out the diagrams and pics, but I'm having trouble figuring out the bushing part..... I did get a new trque shaft and bearing plate, so I'll probably switch out the whole section.
