Default Taking off my gas tank, I've hit an impasse.

I can't remove the fill hose (the one you pour gas into) and vent, I just can't seem to overcome the torque on it. I also cannot cut the hose that goes into the tank because it is the only one I have. Any tips to make this removal easier?

The hose assembly going up to this point is the only one I have, please avoid any 'advice' that suggests mutilating this part.

Default Feul tank hoses

I would try to spray the areas where the hoses attach to the spout with p-b blaster or wd-40, I would also remove the mounting screws that hold the spout to the body.Sometimes that will allow enough movement to allow the hoses to move it is also hard to remove them where they go into the tank justkeep working them when they start to twist on the filler spout they will then come off just go slow and keep working on them I hope this is helpful good luck

Yeah I'm just trying to remove them where they connect to the tank. I'll try the wd-40 and let it sit over night before I tug on it.

The hose is more than likely corroded to the filler tube..Try to slide a screwdriver or small pry bar between the hose and the filler tube. Keep working around it slowly pushing, twisting, prying, and re-spraying w/ lube. It'll come lose..you just need to work at it for a little.

Yeah I used to deal with those all the time in the garage.. they can be a real pain in the @ss sometimes. Just keep working at it like others have said. Try to find something to put around it and grab it with so you can work it back and forth.

I have already disconnected the line up where the tank is filled. The extra play does help quite a bit. Getting access to it is still proving to be quite difficult with the way the tank is designed. I actually even tried a monkey wrench, not much luck.

Any luck? If not..snap a pic and let us see what you're dealing with.

I got it hooked up just fine, but now my sender us reading backwards. When I have a full tank, it's reading empty. Pump works just fine.

Did you plug the sender back in correctly? If it's reading backwards then a a couple wires are mismatched.

When I got the tank, the sender/pump were already in the tank. I just plugged it in. Yes it is plugged in correctly. I did try flipping the plug around just to check, it (just guessing here) made the pump run backwards and then read correctly.

Mine did that until I ran an auxillary ground. The tank reading backwards on the gauge wasn't until I pulled the tank down to check for a fuel smell. After that removal the guage read backwards until I added the extra ground.
