Default Tailgate Speaker Wiring help?

I have a 96 SE with a sound bar and I'm wanting to add speakers to the tailgate too. I pulled wiring and speakers (too be replaced after the wiring is installed successfully) out of an 87 (while my buddy was pulling the dana 44). When I pull my rear panel, I don't see wiring for the rear speakers. What am I missing and how can I get these installed?

Thanks,
s

Dude, are you bustin' my *****? The rear hatch, 5th door, lift gate, whatever you want to call it. It is that hard to figure out what I'm talking about? I'm trying to figure out how to add speakers in the very back. Can you help?

I'm pretty sure that if you're xj came with a soundbar then there will be no wiring in the hatch for speakers. At least that's how mine is. You're gonna have to send wires to the hatch which will probably be kinda tough. If you're looking for more sound or better sound, just get better speakers for your soundbar. More speakers isn't necessarily better.

I definitely agree that more is not always better, but since I got the hatch wiring and speakers for free, I thought I'd give it a shot. Unfortunately, I think you're right that there is no wiring to the hatch with the soundbar, so that makes me SOL. I hope you're wrong, but I doubt it.

What are the colors for the speaker wiring at the hatch (green and black)?
