Default T-Case Sound?

So today was the first day I had driven my XJ in nearly 10 years. Kind of a shakedown cruise really, back and forth to work about fifty miles total. So I got an oil change and had all the fluids checked and then topped off. Everything went pretty well except I had some brake grinding noise on the right front wheel so when I got home I pulled it down and re-adjusted everything.

But something I noticed when I had the wheel up in the air is that when I rotated the tire I can hear the gearing in the transfer case. Like I can hear the teeth engaging. Is that normal? I'm just worried about possible failure of the tcase, it's been so wrong since I drove this I don't remember if it made noise in the past or not.

Any help on this is appreciated.

Took the calipers apart, and put anti-squeal on the back of the pads and anti-seize on the other moving parts.

Just wanted to make sure nothing was getting eaten up front there. The pads are pretty good, although slightly glazed. But the reverb from the harmonics was making it sound like I had a rock in the stuck somewhere in the backing plate.

Thanks for the replies.
