Default T-case lowering kit?

got a 3" lift, still getting some D-shaft vibes, thier minor but hella annoying, would a T-case lowering kit cure this? cause i figured it's not bad enough to get a SYE. plus i'm not gonna pay 300$ for one.

Yeah lowering the tc would be fine thats all i did with my 4.5" lift and havent had any problems

how was the installation? it seems like it would be pretty hard?

It was the easiest part of the whole lift, just support the tc with a jack, remove the bolts from the crossmember and lower it just over an inch. Then insert the spacers and bolt it back with new hardware.

instead of buying some Drop kit off the internet and then paying shipping.... get in your ride/rig and drive to a sports shop (MC Sports) buy 4 hockey pucks, drill a hole in them thats just big enough for the bolt to slip through.. then drive to any local hardware store or a Tractor supply Co is best (they charge by the pound instead of individual bolts/nut/washer) and buy 4 longer bolts (i believe the bolt size is a 3/8 Diameter by 2.5" long......

you'll pay close to $20 for everything but there won't be any shipping charge and you won't have to wait 4-5 days for the stuff to get there
thats what i've done for 2 of my cherokees and a couple of my friends jeeps and we have yet to come across an issue with the hockey pucks

When I was going to install my lift on my Jeep (Which I still haven`t done) it seemed to me the "bolts" holding the crossmember up under my transfer case weren`t bolts at all ..They were threaded studs coming down from the frame which the crossmember fit over and then nuts went on the studs to hold it up...Has anyone else run into this?

They are metic bolts. Take one out of the crossmember and go into a hardware store. Tell them you want one 1" longer and about 32 washers for them. I believe that are 10mmx1.50. Ive been known to be wrong before though...

That'll give you around 1" of drop and works well too.

Yeah each side is a bolt and a nut....you can try some square tube also that would work.

Oh yeah I forgot. Get a nut or 2 that will fit on the studs and tighten one nut against the other and then turn the top nut like its a bolt head. PB blasters a must too.


You can replace the studs with bolts.

tighten one nut on the bolt then another below it, then loosen the top bolt closest to the frame it should take it out
