Default T-case interchangability

My buddy still needs a t-case for his 95 XJ. He has a friend who knows someone that has a 95 Wrangler, 4 cylinder, auto trans, NP231. that is tearing out the entire drivetrain and re-doing it. My question is will the t-case from the 95 Wrangler match up to my buddies 95 XJ no questions asked?? Also, will the front drive shaft match as well??

Thanks in advance!!

What transmission does this wrangler have? It might fit if the spline count is the same. I can't say for sure but you could look the part numbers up in the Factory parts catalog and see if they match.

If you can get the part number of the t-case tag and we can match it in the parts manual. Does the XJ have a t-case that's just bad? If so get that part# as well. By comparing them we could cross reference for computability.

it also matters what the input shaft length and spline counts are.
a 4cyl will have a 21 spl shaft if I recall and I am not sure what year the XJ's swapped from 21 spl to 23 spl. do your research because there is stuff you will NEED to know

Also the Wrangler clocks the T-case different than the Cherokee... so it won't sit in the Jeep exactly the same way....
